California’s End of Life Option Act

Date: 5/31/23

Time:  Noon via Zoom

Speakers: Elise Baker, Esq.

California’s End of Life Option Act went into effect in 2016. This controversial law allows a qualified individual to get medication that will end their life. Elise’s mother is one of the few people in California who exercised this right in 2022. In this presentation, Elise will review some of the material portions of the Act and the changes made to the Act in 2022. Elise will also share her personal story about how the Act worked for her mother in real life and what she learned during that emotional process.

Elise Baker is the owner of Placer Law Group, APC, a certified specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law, a certified executive coach, and a musician. One of Elise’s passions in life is supporting others. To that end, she created the South Placer Estate Planning Council and is a past chair of the Placer County Bar Association Probate and Estate Planning Section. Elise currently serves on the board of directors of the Placer Community Foundation, is a guest training coach in McLaren Coaching’s Transformation Coaching Essentials coach certification program, and recently coached young musicians in Skip’s Music’s 2022 Stairway to Stardom program.
